We have many tools available to help us find what is making your pet sick or uncomfortable. Two of these tools that are used everyday are x-rays and ultrasound. These are often used together as they can give us different information about the same area of the body. X-rays are best for giving us overall size of organs such as the liver, spleen and heart. They also evaluate for broken bones and lung disease. Ultrasound on the other hand, is best for examining organs in a more detailed manner. This helps us get as close a look as possible without invasive surgery.
