Laboratory Services

Cherokee Animal Hospital uses in-house laboratory equipment as well as commercial laboratories to provide comprehensive testing and rapid results. In house results are available immediately and outside lab results are generally available within 24-48 hours.

Among the laboratory services offered:

• Feline leukemia & FIV testing
• Heartworm testing
• Fecal exams
• Urinalysis
• Complete blood counts
• Blood chemistry
• Cytology ( microscopic examination of cells) of skin cells
• Culture and sensitivity
• Diabetes diagnosis and control
• Hormone levels, such as thyroid
• Testing for those pets on regular medications for conditions such as arthritis and seizures
